General Litigation
What is general litigation?
General litigation refers to
contested cases wherein a lawsuit has been filed, or is
contemplated, but which does not easily fit in any legal
category. Some cases defy easy classification, and this
category is meant to encompass those type cases. An
example is one case handled by Jarvis Law which
concerned a dispute between neighbors over modification
and use of a boat dock. The case was part real estate,
part homeowners association, part property damage, and
part construction defect, with some easement issues
thrown in for good measure. To call it a real estate
case would not adequately describe it - hence the term
“general litigation”. This term encompasses cases that
concern property damage, personal injury, contracts,
real estate, etc.
