Labor
What is Labor law?
Labor law refers to the
various laws which govern the workplace, including
laws concerning minimum wage, overtime, commissions,
non-payment of wages, etc. Generally, such laws are
enforced by the Labor Commissioner, Division of
Labor Standards Enforcement. However, you can also
assert these rights in a civil action, and in most
cases are entitled to reimbursement of your
attorneys fees if you are the prevailing party.
Labor law also refers to the
law governing labor unions and association. Jarvis
Law Offices is also involved in representing unions
and labor associations, and workers against their
employers and against their unions.
